When listing your home, feel free to interview your prospective realtor. Ask questions that are most important to you and your family. An experienced agent will provide you with recent activity in your community. They should provide you with active listings, current closed sales, a marketing strategy, an estimated net sheet and what to expect during the listing period.
Some questions you may want to ask:
- Wil a sign be placed in your front yard or in the window (if permitted by assocation)?
- How long have you been a licensed real estate agent?
- Do you live locally?
- How to you handle bi-lingual clients?
- How long has your office been in existance?
- Who answers calls when someone wants to show my home?
- What kind of lockbox do you use?
- Should my home receive a contract, are your present during inspections & appraisals?
- Do you show up for the closing?
- If I live out of state, do I have to attend the closing or can it be done by mail?
- Should the buyers choose not to purchase my furnishings, do you have a charity I may donate my items to?
